Craft glue is the general-purpose classroom answer — a liquid white glue that dries slightly opaque. Dala describes it as an acid-free, non-toxic multi-purpose adhesive. It washes out of fabric, which matters in a classroom.

Glue sticks are made for bonding lightweight materials such as cardstock and paper. For anything heavier or textured, use a liquid glue.

Wood glue is for wood on wood and sets harder than craft glue.

Spray adhesives cover large flat areas evenly. Adult handling.

Glitter glue and decorative glues are bought for the finish rather than the bond.

Buy craft glue in bulk and decant it. Large containers are far cheaper per litre, and small bottles for tables reduce waste dramatically.

Match the glue to the material. Glue sticks are scoped to paper and cardstock; craft materials with weight or texture need liquid glue. Most classroom disappointment with adhesive comes from this mismatch rather than from a poor product.
